Ok, so last weekend, July 29, I spent all day at Paddle Power. Paddle Power is a fundraiser and awareness event for suicide prevention. A full day kayaking and canoeing the Connecticut River for 16 miles, with dinner and entertainment at Pastures Campground.
Suicide is something that touches many peoples lives, whether in a loved one who
thought about, attempted, or committed suicide, or themselves experiencing the same. Now, normally this is a two day event, and in that time, 100 people lose their life to suicide. This event was only one day this year, and so every 18 minutes, we lose a person to suicide.
There is no better group of people than those at Paddle Power. When you get people to get together to celebrate life, you know it is gonna be a good day.
