Jeremy and I made it to Silver Lake State Park and our lean-to at 2am after the Red Sox game.
It was quite challenging to set up camp quietly. We had to unpack totes and inflate the air matrress, but in the end, we did it. No one was disturbed! Despite the late night, we had a fairly early morning. It was time for some long periods of time fishing.
Some eggs and coffee in our system, and our kayaks ready to go, we headed to the water. I almost brought the camera with me, but luckily I didn't! It started to rain about 20 minutes into the kayak. I missed out on getting Jeremy's lunker of a bass for the weekend, and my own for that matter, but it sure beat having the camera ruined by the rain.
The weather ended up perfect, lots of kayaking and fishing! I got a nice bit of color, but Jeremy ended up with some nasty burns. He has a farmers tan and a kayakers tan. It is quite a nice look. We were able to spend some time kayaking with Abbe and Marcus and Gabby, with Michelle, Dakota, Reilly, and Mel, and Garrett and Jed and Joseph. Even Joey and Eddy made it out on the water!
We had a kabob off for dinner Saturday night with steak, veggie, chicken, shrimp, meatball, and fruit kabobs! In the end, Garrett won with his original meatball kabobs. Not only did everyone really love them, but he was also the only person with no kabobs left over! Garrett was Grill Sargent and won the t-shirt. Next year its a Mexican Theme, with fajitas, quesadillas, guacamole, and whatever anyone else comes up with.
The weekend came to a close with a french toast breakfast with Dad and Deb. Cannot wait till next year!

It was SO worth it to wake up and be at the camp ground ready to enjoy the day.
